The Pilot Yukari Royal Rooster Limited Edition Fountain Pen is a striking example of traditional Japanese maki-e artistry, capturing the vitality and symbolic strength of the rooster through masterful lacquer work.

Set against a deep black urushi lacquer background dusted with gold, the design features a vividly rendered rooster in motion, its plumage depicted in rich tones of red, gold, and subtle green. The composition conveys energy and presence, reflecting the rooster’s long-standing symbolism in Japanese culture as a guardian of light and a symbol of courage, confidence, and fidelity.

The artwork is created using traditional maki-e techniques, where layers of lacquer are painstakingly applied and polished, with gold powder carefully dispersed to create depth and luminosity. Each pen is individually crafted by skilled artisans, ensuring that no two pieces are exactly alike.

The pen is fitted with a smooth-writing 18-karat gold nib (No.10 size) and utilizes a cartridge/converter filling system. Its balanced Yukari form offers both comfort and elegance, making it suitable for both daily writing and display as a collectible work of art.

Exceptional like new comes with 18kt #10 nib. Shows no signs of use for a 30+ year old pen. Comes with box but not sure of 100% documentation due to the pens age.
